CHROMASCAPE 052
THE HUDSON RIVER AFTER THE RAIN FROM PIER 1
This is one of my favorite Chromascapes. It lives in my living room as a stunning 60” x 40” print. The colors and fine details really come to life at that size. I love this image (and print) not only because it’s beautiful, but also because it holds a memory of time shared with my mom in NYC while I was making the image.
This photograph was made in October of 2022 on a visit to see my mom in NYC. It had been raining all afternoon and finally let up just before sunset. Mom and I walked down to Pier 1 at W 70th St on the Hudson River to get outside and enjoy the evening. I set my camera at the end of the pier and made Chromascapes in the day’s remaining light. It was fun sharing my process with my mom. Chromascape 052 is catching the last bit of daylight on the Hudson River under stormy skies as the lights blink on in New Jersey. ~ Marc
