This image was made about a mile from the Denver airport after dropping my daughter off for a flight. A thunderstorm had just flowed over the Divide and was racing east over the plains towards the airport. I found a quiet two-lane road next to a newly plowed field and set up my camera under a rain tent and waited for the storm to roll across the landscape to me. I photographed for 65 minutes in the pouring rain and driving wind trying to capture a lightning bolt in an image. After missing several, I had success on the 128th frame. Chromascape 087 is a single bolt of lightning exploding from inky black clouds and striking the rich green fields beyond the freshly tilled earth in the foreground.  ~ Marc
