CHROMASCAPE 120
RINCON POINT AT SUNSET
One of the things I love about the Santa Barbara area shoreline is that it actually faces south. This means the sun sets looking up the beach and not straight out over the ocean. For me, this gives me super broad sunset colors to work with over the ocean and not have the sun in my photos. This image was made at Rincon Point, a famous surf break just south of Santa Barbara. I was on the beach photographing the waves rolling in and the colors of the sky during the sunset. It was a beautiful evening and the tide was going out. Chromascape 120 captures the last colors of the sunset reflecting off the wet sand beach, the dark blue Pacific Ocean, and the first evening lights of Santa Barbara in the distance. ~ Marc
